Copper Rod Breakdown Machine
Copper rod breakdown machines reduce Ø8 mm copper rods into Ø1.2–4.5 mm single wires for wire and cable production. As the copper rod moves through the drawing dies, its diameter becomes smaller and more controlled. The same drawing process also helps keep the wire round and the surface clean enough for later cable production. The finished wire is suitable for later stranding, bunching, insulation, or other conductor manufacturing steps.

Features
- Copper wire leaves the annealing and take-up section at below 50°C, with no surface oxidation, stable wire diameter, and elongation that meets the required standard.
- Aluminum alloy guide wheels are used in the annealing unit and wire accumulator. Their ceramic-coated grooves offer better wear resistance and a longer service life.
- The annealing unit works together with the fixed-speed wheel of the wire drawing main unit. Operators can switch between annealing and non-annealing modes, while the anti-reverse device supports safer operation.
- The pneumatic dual-reel take-up system reaches reel change speed quickly and allows reel change once the speed drops to 8–12 m/s, helping reduce downtime.
- During dual-reel take-up changeover, the wire leading-end diameter stays within a tight ±0.01 mm range, which helps reduce scrap wire.
- Maintenance access openings near the capstan shaft positions make the wire drawing oil tank easier to inspect, clean, and service.
- The wire accumulator uses a contactless potentiometer for stable adjustment, longer service life, and faster reel change response.
- The rotating-arm pay-off stand has two working positions, allowing rod feeding and rod connection without stopping the wire drawing machine.
- If abnormal rod pay-off occurs, the wire drawing machine stops automatically to prevent drawing faults or wire damage.
- The traversing frame uses a dual-support structure for smoother movement, and its reversing position can be adjusted electrically during production.
- Equipped with digital DC speed control, PLC control, measurement display, fault display, fault alarm, and automatic shutdown functions to help operators have better control over the wire drawing process.
